Palpation ... analysis through touch

This course is designed to improve the palpatory skills of the therapist. Various types and depths of touch, physiological patterns and responses, tissue restrictions and resistance, craniosacral rhythm, and release responses are studied, as well as the art of maintaining focus. This course will be of interest to all massage therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and others who need excellent palpatory skills to better help their patients.

This is a fun class with lots of hands-on work.

course objectives

Understand the subtleties of establishing unobtrusive contact with the client.

Be able to maintain proper focus and intention in the palpatory process.

Learn normal physiological patterns and whole body responses from a palpatory perspective, to include cardiac, respiratory, and craniosacral rhythms.

Be able to recognize abnormal physiological patterns and responses through the palpatory process.

Learn the palpatory indications of tissue release, both locally and globally.

Obtain practical skills in whole body palpatory analysis.

Learn to integrate advanced palpatory skills into your current massage/bodywork practice.
