Clinical Practicum

Supervised Application of Applied Bio-Mechanics or Cranial-Sacral Therapy

Prerequisite: Completion of the basic class of instruction in Applied Bio-Mechanics or Cranial-Sacral Therapy

A clinical practicum can be arranged as an extension to a class or at a separate time for a small group of students who wish to sharpen and fine-tune their hands-on skills and increase their confidence in working with clients.

Classes are limited in size and are held in an informal clinical setting either at our location in Jasper, Arkansas, or at another location convenient to the group.

Participants work with each other and with clients under supervision. Participants may bring someone with them to receive work during the practicum.

Practice is done in real time, and participants learn to use time and energy most efficiently.

Emphasis is placed on gaining a thorough knowledge of techniques, improvement of palpatory skills, and sharpening of hands-on application skills.

Participants learn how to create and maintain a therapeutic space.

Multiple-therapist sessions are explored in cranial-sacral therapy applications.

Each day begins and ends with short group discussions.

This type of setting provides maximum therapeutic benefits for clients while greatly enhancing the skills and confidence of the therapist. Therapists also benefit from the therapy they receive during the practicum.

Typical cost at our location is $800 per person for four days with a minimum of four participants. Arrangements and cost for other durations, different number of participants, or other locations will be made on an individual basis.

Therapists can also arrange to have assistance in their own clinics with their own clients. This arrangement is tailored to the therapist’s needs and is very individualized regarding cost and duration.
